A growing network of around nine home churches has evolved over recent months in and around the Bromsgrove area of Birmingham. Some had been going for a while others only started earlier in 2005 but all have benefited from a growing interdependence.
One of the leaders described something of their recent journey, "In April 2005 my wife and I opened up our home for "church in Peter's house". We soon had a nucleus of folk, some joining from our previous church and others totally new. It was exciting to see how we found "church" each week. Because of space we switched our Sunday gatherings to a Retirement complex, where we are discovering true kingdom community. New folk have joined us, including new conversions, and we are continuing to grow whilst ensuring open-style meetings with participation from all.
One of our couples has since moved jobs and home to fifty miles away, and is building relationships in their community to spread the kingdom of God. Our newest convert has opened up her flat to reach family, friends and neighbours every Sunday evening, for which we have been doing series of "John Grisham" discussions. We have also held some "servant evangelism" projects in the town and are building good relationships with other local leaders."
