a flight to forget

Arrived last night in Budapest after quite a journey. As we flew into Budapest we hit 3 simultaneous storms which decided to converge right at that point. Oh boy! We had peole screaming and praying out loud as well as being sick etc. After circling for a while they closed the airport and we diverted to the Czeck republic, where we waited 2 hours for coaches to arrive then had a 4 hour drive to Budapest. A night to forget.

Later today with 2 DAWN colleagues we head by car to Serbia where we will spend the weekend with 2 groups of leaders from a network of house churches. We hope to be an encouragement to them (as well as learn from them) and help envision them towards multiplication of churches planting churches.

Ah... Alexander, some apostolic hardships on your way! If you felt like Paul hitting the coast of Malta, then the storms hopefully are a sign of breakthrough to come. The Dutchies just beated the young Serbs in soccer, so please console them on my behalf. Have a fruitful trip!

Something is happening across Britain today: a new kind of church is beginning to appear; increasing numbers of christians (recent research suggests between 40 & 100,000) are starting to gather in homes, colleges and work places. Living out a 24-7 faith, they are missionally focused with a 'go to them' dynamic instead of a 'come to us' invitation. These communities are small, fluid, organic, reproducible and most of all simple; so simple that any believer would respond by saying "I could do that!"
