DAWN international conference

If you have been following my other blog you will have read some of the incredible stories of church planting movements I have encountered amongst the delegates here in Joburg. Some of these people I had only read or heard about second hand but here I have had a chance to talk face to face with them. During the conference we have had reports from all the continents and many individual countries in terms of what is happening in the church planting arena. It has been profoundly encouraging to hear in detail that what God is beginning to do in the UK and Europe is happening right around the world.
Although there are differences of culture etc - the underlying thinking and values are very similar to those involved in small, organic, simple church here in Europe. This has been such an encouragement.
DAWN as an organisation, which helps catalyse indigenous national church planting strategies in order to reach and disciple whole nations, has set a new aspirational goal of seeing 20 million new churches planted over the next 10- 20 years.

Something is happening across Britain today: a new kind of church is beginning to appear; increasing numbers of christians (recent research suggests between 40 & 100,000) are starting to gather in homes, colleges and work places. Living out a 24-7 faith, they are missionally focused with a 'go to them' dynamic instead of a 'come to us' invitation. These communities are small, fluid, organic, reproducible and most of all simple; so simple that any believer would respond by saying "I could do that!"

The aim of this site is to connect, report and resource these new groups. If you'd like to know more check out the vision page.
